Apartment Living

Apartment living doesn't have to be a drag! It's all in how you look at it! Sure it's a smaller space especially when you have a family ( including kiddos + pets) but if you make your house into a home it doesn't matter how big or how small your home is!

I am a visual person, so I like adding special touches to my place to make it a home. So what I like to do for my home is add colorful touches here and there! (for example: my credenza is bright sunny yellow!) and I wouldn't have it any other way.

In my dining room I added pops of color by adding a blue rug under the table since our apartment has carpet! and fun table mats and floral arrangements!

In the master bedroom I kept it very clean and neutral and added a fun patterned curtains that I made a few years ago!

In my daughter's bedroom I kept it also daughterl but added a fun theme of anchors and florals to make it girlie yet classy and chic!

and last but not least for the mantle I created a garland that says BLESSED! because a happy home is a blessed home!

Gabby

Salsa Night

Last night we had a formal event that we went to, it was at a salsa hall so I wanted to wear a dress that was long and fancy to keep it formal yet playful in color to keep it young and trendy.

Then I remembered I had this dress that I got from Agaci about 3 years ago! I originally bought this dress for my Lingerie/Bachlorette party that my sister hosted for me at the Za Za Hotel in Dallas. I haven't worn it since so it was the perfect opportunity to bust it out again, who says you can't repeat outfits?!! lol I sure do!

I paired the dress up with this GORGEOUS necklace that you can get here!
The rest I kept super simple, I got these little studs from Forever 21 that came in a pack of 2 pairs and love how I can pair them up with just about any outfit! Plus they were under $20! win-win

I matched my daughter in a cute formal dress from Target that I picked up during spring time and loved how the blues matched! I also didn't want to wear heels and be uncomfortable so I opted to wear these flats instead! i bought these from Aldo for my wedding day and have gotten soooo much use out of them! definitely a great buy! so if you don't have a pair like that, Id suggest you to get yourself one because they come in handy!!

Here's a few more pics my husband took of me in the dress! The royal blue color is just so stunning! I think its a great color because it looks good on just about any skin color! <3

Here's some pics from the party:

Moving Shenanigans

We are in the middle of packing all our stuff and finally moving to our own little apt! While that may not seem like much to most people, to us, its a HUGE step in the right direction! I haven't really talked much about it because Ive been focusing on staying positive and staying busy with my many different businesses.

Soo here it goes! For the past year and half we have been staying with my inlaws (who have graciously put up with a family of 3 and one LARGE dog who likes to shed a TON!!! I mean a TON!
No matter how many time you vacuum Cooper (my golden retriever) will shed the amount equivalent to another dog!

You ask why have you not tried to get your own place?? well the simple fact is that because we were down to only my husbands income after me having Peyton, we decided for me to stay at home with her to raise her while he went to work. I could of easily have put her in a day care and gone off to work full time as a graphic designer making pretty good money, but that's not what we wanted for our family. And with that comes major sacrifices such as not having our own place. So after a long time overdue, Im looking for a full time job now that the little one is older (19 months old) and we are finally moving to an affordable apt until we save up for a house!! YEAYY!

So now that is all out there! We can move forward to our packing shenanigans with a toddler!

I decided to take a break from all the packing of boxes and throwing crap away and have a little fun with her! and this is what came of it <3

I had to bribe her with her fave (peppermint york patties) to get her to stay still and keep the Minnie ears on her head!

these last two are my FAVORITE of her!! her expressions are priceless! I CANNOT wait to take her to Disney World! hoping to take her to atleast one of the parks soon since my dad is moving to Tampa here next month, it should be easier to drive up to Orlando for the day or something.

Any who! until next time!!

Sunday Funday + Birthday Fun

Last night we went over to our dear friends house to celebrate their birthdays! We love going over to their house because its out in the country and its a new development so theres a lot of open fields and cute areas to take pictures while we went on an evening walk. Especially since the weather yesterday was a lot cooler than it had been during August. It was a little preview of whats to come in fall! <3

My look for yesterdays Sunday Funday was a fun vibrant button up tank from Forever 21 and some high waist cut off shorts, also from Forever 21! Both pieces I got a while back but they are very easy to recreate.

These hassle earrings are from Charming Charlies on sale for $3! and the choker is DIY. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought the leather strap, measured it and cut it and made the choker! I have an earlier post on how to make your own.

These little girlies are too much fun! First they are sour then they are sweet with each other. The push each other, run the stroller into the wall while the other is in it, tackle each other but then two seconds later they are laughing and loving on each other! they are the salt and pepper twins as we call them!

We stumbled upon a tractor and of course everyone had to get in it and have fun!
The girls in particular ;)

Overall it was a very fun late summer evening <3

Rain | Maxi Skirt | Rain Boots

I LOVE me some rain boots!! Last year I only owned a short pair of Sperry's rain boots that my hubby bought me one Christmas, yet I always dreamed of owning a Hunter pair! So this past Christmas I asked Santa for a new pair, he outdid himself! I not only got 1 pair but 2!!!

The red pair of rain boots are from amazon.com they only cost about $40! vs the Hunter brand which are double the price! But I don't care, I love both of them!

This is a little preview of what its like taking pics with a 19 month old babe! lol she kept walking into the shot and we had to keep telling her to move. poor thing is probably so confused hahaha

So we had to stop and play with the water for a bit to get her on a happier note :D

Its ok because it made for some pretty cool shots <3
